Swelling of the testicles, discomfort or masses are present in over 90 percent of cases. Such symptoms are sometimes ignored or misdiagnosed as being caused by an injury, as an inflammation of the testis (orchitis) or spermatic cord (epididymitis) requiring only antibiotic therapy, or as enlarging veins of the spermatic cord. Breast tenderness or enlargement because of high levels of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), and abdominal pain or cough with blood-tinged sputum , can be the main complaints, due to metastases.
